921 AN ACT DESIGNATING VARIOUS DAYS, WEEKS AND MONTHS.
1022 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1123 Assembly convened:

13-Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the general statutes is
14-amended by adding subdivisions (108) to (116), inclusive, as follows
15-(Effective from passage):
16-(NEW) (108) The Governor shall proclaim the month of May of each
17-year as Bone Health and Osteoporosis Month, to raise public awareness
18-of this women's health issue. Suitable exercises may be held in the State
19-Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of
20-the month.
21-(NEW) (109) The Governor shall proclaim the first week of May of
22-each year to be Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week, to raise public
23-awareness of this neurological involuntary movement disorder and
24-available treatments for it. Suitable exercises may be held in the State
25-Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of
26-the week.
27-(NEW) (110) The Governor shall proclaim May tenth of each year as
28-Ann Petry Day, in recognition of this Connecticut author and her
29-contribution to literature as the first African-American female author to Senate Bill No. 1158

40-the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the
41-observance of the day.
42-(NEW) (112) The Governor shall proclaim July eleventh of each year
43-as Bosnian Genocide Remembrance Day, to remember the more than
44-eight thousand Bosniak civilians killed in Srebrenica during the Bosnian
45-war. Suitable exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere
46-as the Governor designates for the observance of the day.
47-(NEW) (113) The Governor shall proclaim September fourteenth of
48-each year to be Free Enterprise Day, to recognize the contributions that
49-free enterprise has made to the state's economy. Suitable exercises may
50-be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates
51-for the observance of the day.
52-(NEW) (114) The Governor shall proclaim September seventeenth of
53-each year to be Constitution Day, to commemorate the formation and
54-signing of the United States Constitution. Suitable exercises may be held
55-in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the
56-observance of the day.
57-(NEW) (115) The Governor shall proclaim October ninth of each year
58-as PANS and PANDAS Awareness Day, to raise awareness of the
59-autoimmune disorders of Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric
60-Syndrome and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders

71-impact of homicide on families and communities. Suitable exercises may
72-be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates
73-for the observance of the month.
74-Sec. 2. Subdivisions (103) to (105), inclusive, of subsection (a) of
75-section 10-29a of the general statutes are repealed and the following is
76-substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):
77-(103) The Governor shall proclaim the month of March of each year
78-to be Peace Corps Month, in recognition of the service provided by the
79-volunteers of the Peace Corps in supporting the global community.
80-Suitable exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the
81-Governor designates for the observance of the month.
82-(104) [Maternal Mental Health Month.] The Governor shall proclaim
83-the month of May of each year to be Maternal Mental Health Month, to
84-raise awareness of issues surrounding maternal mental health. Suitable
85-exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the
86-Governor designates for the observance of the month.
87-(105) [Maternal Mental Health Day.] The Governor shall proclaim
88-May fifth of each year to be Maternal Mental Health Day, to raise
89-awareness of issues surrounding maternal mental health. Suitable
90-exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the
91-Governor designates for the observance of the day.
