912 AN ACT DEFINING "DEPENDENT CHILD" FOR PURPOSES OF THE
1013 STATE CODE OF ETHICS FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND
1114 CONCERNING THE EXERCISE OF JURISDICTION OVER
1215 NONRESIDENTS BY THE OFFICE OF STATE ETHICS.
1316 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1417 Assembly convened:

16-Section 1. Section 1-79 of the 2024 supplement to the general statutes
17-is amended by adding subdivision (22) as follows (Effective October 1,
18-2024):
19-(NEW) (22) "Dependent child" means a qualifying child, as defined
20-in 26 USC 152, as amended from time to time, who is the son, daughter,
21-stepson or stepdaughter of the filing individual.
22-Sec. 2. Subsection (a) of section 1-101oo of the general statutes is
23-repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from
24-passage):
25-(a) [In addition to its jurisdiction over persons who are residents of
26-this state, the Office of State Ethics may] For the purposes of this part,
27-the exercise of personal jurisdiction by the Office of State Ethics over any
28-nonresident person, or the agent of such nonresident person, is limited
29-to any such person or agent who makes a payment of money or gives
