General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 353

AN ACT CONCERNING THE PUBLIC AVAILABILITY OF
INFORMATION RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE OF ELEVATORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than January 1, 1
2025, the Commissioner of Administrative Services shall make publicly 2
available on the Internet web site of the Department of Administrative 3
Services information related to the maintenance of elevators in this state, 4
except those located in private residences, that is maintained by the 5
department in an electronic database. Such publicly available 6
information shall include, but need not be limited to, (1) registration 7
information filed with the department pursuant to section 29-194 of the 8
general statutes, (2) the date of each inspection by the department 9
conducted pursuant to section 29-195 of the general statutes and a copy 10
of the department inspector's report for each such inspection, (3) a copy 11
of each certificate of operation issued by the department pursuant to 12
section 29-196 of the general statutes and the date of expiration for each 13
such certificate, (4) each order for the discontinuance of operation issued 14
by the department pursuant to section 29-197 of the general statutes, and 15
(5) each accident or incident reported by an owner of an elevator, or such 16
owner's agent, pursuant to section 29-199 of the general statutes and the 17
information from any investigation or inspection by the department of 18

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
