AN ACT CONCERNING THE OBSERVANCE OF THREE KINGS DAY IN 
CONNECTICUT PUBLIC SCHOOLS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to permit students in 1 
grades kindergarten to twelve, inclusive, to not attend school in order 2 
to observe Three Kings Day; and further, that section 10-198b of the 3 
general statutes be amended to require the State Board of Education to 4 
amend the definitions of "excused absence" and "unexcused absence" to 5 
exclude a student's observance of Three Kings Day.  6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To recognize the cultural and religious significance of Three Kings Day 
for students in Connecticut.
