CANDELARIA J., 95th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE OBSERVANCE OF THREE KINGS DAY IN CONNECTICUT PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to permit students in 1 grades kindergarten to twelve, inclusive, to not attend school in order 2 to observe Three Kings Day; and further, that section 10-198b of the 3 general statutes be amended to require the State Board of Education to 4 amend the definitions of "excused absence" and "unexcused absence" to 5 exclude a student's observance of Three Kings Day. 6 Statement of Purpose: To recognize the cultural and religious significance of Three Kings Day for students in Connecticut.
