24 | 24 | That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to dedicate all 1 | |
25 | 25 | sales and use taxes revenue generated from the sale, acceptance or 2 | |
26 | 26 | receipt in this state of alcohol to (1) the Department of Mental Health 3 | |
27 | 27 | and Addiction Services for rehabilitation and treatment programs, (2) 4 | |
28 | 28 | the Division of State Police within the Department of Emergency 5 | |
29 | 29 | Services and Public Protection for drunk driving prevention efforts, and 6 | |
30 | 30 | (3) the establishment of a recovery school for students who are in 7 | |
31 | 31 | recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders. 8 | |
32 | 32 | Statement of Purpose: | |
33 | 33 | To dedicate all sales and use taxes revenue generated from the sale, | |
34 | 34 | acceptance or receipt in this state of alcohol to rehabilitation and | |
35 | 35 | treatment programs, drunk driving prevention efforts and the | |
36 | 36 | establishment of a recovery school. |
