24 | 24 | That title 14 of the general statutes be amended to provide for a 1 | |
25 | 25 | penalty schedule for reckless driving that mirrors the penalty schedule 2 | |
26 | 26 | for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or 3 | |
27 | 27 | alcohol, including fines, periods of suspension for a motor vehicle 4 | |
28 | 28 | operator's license or nonresident operating privilege, periods of 5 | |
29 | 29 | incarceration and increased penalties for second, third and subsequent 6 | |
30 | 30 | violations, except provisions involving the installation of ignition 7 | |
31 | 31 | interlocking devices, and in lieu of a pretrial impaired driving 8 | |
32 | 32 | intervention program, require an operator found guilty of reckless 9 | |
33 | 33 | driving to successfully complete a course of not less than thirty clock 10 | |
34 | 34 | hours of classroom instruction relative to motor vehicle operation and 11 | |
35 | 35 | highway safety provided by a licensed drivers' school. 12 | |
