SOMERS, 18th Dist. REP. KLARIDES-DITRIA, 105th Dist. SEN. FAZIO, 36th Dist. AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH TELEHEALTH. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to provide that individual and 1 group health insurance policies shall provide coverage for mental health 2 services provided through telehealth, provided (1) the covered person 3 is a resident of this state and out of state temporarily due to attendance 4 at an institution of higher learning, and (2) the treating physician is 5 appropriately licensed, certified or registered in this state and 6 authorized to provide mental health services through telehealth to the 7 covered person. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require health insurance coverage for mental health services provided through telehealth to out-of-state students who reside in this state.
