| 22 | 22 | That (1) section 53-247 of the general statutes be amended to (A) 1 | |
| 23 | 23 | increase the penalty for intentionally injuring a police animal or dog in 2 | |
| 24 | 24 | a volunteer canine search and rescue team, and (B) establish a penalty 3 | |
| 25 | 25 | for annoying, teasing, tormenting or harassing a police animal that is 4 | |
| 26 | 26 | confined in a motor vehicle; and (2) the general statutes be amended to 5 | |
| 27 | 27 | (A) allow emergency medical services personnel to provide emergency 6 | |
| 28 | 28 | treatment and transportation to an injured police animal under certain 7 | |
| 29 | 29 | circumstances, and (B) establish a grant program to provide canine 8 | |
