AN ACT REPEALING THE COMBINED PUBLIC BENEFITS CHARGE AND REQUIRING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL FOR ANY FUTURE COMBINED PUBLIC BENEFITS CHARGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) repeal the authority for 1 any electric distribution company to include the Combined Public 2 Benefits Charge on electric bills for end use customers of such company, 3 (2) remove any charge included in the charges collectively called the 4 "Combined Public Benefits Charge" from electric bills for end use 5 customers of each electric distribution company unless such charge is 6 approved by the General Assembly, and (3) require that any such future 7 charge be implemented only upon the affirmative vote of the General 8 Assembly. 9 Proposed Bill No. 5402 LCO No. 1873 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To remove charges collectively called the "Combined Public Benefits Charge" from electric bills and require that any such future charge be implemented only upon the affirmative vote of the General Assembly.
