1818 AN ACT CONCERNING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR JUVENILE
1919 OFFENDERS AND THEIR PARENTS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That title 46b of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
2424 juvenile offenders or their parents shall be liable for property damage 2
2525 up to fifteen thousand dollars, require community service for juvenile 3
2626 offenders and impose stricter penalties in the case of repeat offenders 4
2727 for offenses related to motor vehicle theft and related property damage. 5
2828 Statement of Purpose:
2929 To enhance accountability for juvenile offenders and their parents by
3030 increasing parental liability for property damage, require community
3131 service for juvenile offenders and impose stricter penalties in the case of
3232 repeat offenders for offenses related to motor vehicle theft and related
