AN ACT CONCERNING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR JUVENILE 
OFFENDERS AND THEIR PARENTS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 46b of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 
juvenile offenders or their parents shall be liable for property damage 2 
up to fifteen thousand dollars, require community service for juvenile 3 
offenders and impose stricter penalties in the case of repeat offenders 4 
for offenses related to motor vehicle theft and related property damage. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To enhance accountability for juvenile offenders and their parents by 
increasing parental liability for property damage, require community 
service for juvenile offenders and impose stricter penalties in the case of 
repeat offenders for offenses related to motor vehicle theft and related 
property damage.
