AN ACT CONCERNING FERTILITY FRAUD BY PHYSICIANS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to provide that: (1) No 1 physician shall knowingly use the physician's own sperm to inseminate 2 a patient without the patient's consent; and (2) any person harmed by a 3 physician knowingly using his own sperm to inseminate a patient 4 without the patient's consent may bring an action against such physician 5 in the Superior Court to recover the actual damages sustained by such 6 person, together with the cost of the suit, including a reasonable 7 attorney's fee. 8 Statement of Purpose: To protect patients undergoing fertility treatments from physician misconduct.
