AN ACT REQUIRING CULTURAL EDUCATION FOR 
SUPERINTENDENTS AND BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBERS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to require each superintendent, 1 
including, but not limited to, any interim superintendent and other 2 
superintendent appointed for a limited or temporary term, assistant 3 
superintendent and president of a local or regional board of education 4 
of a school district in which eighty per cent or more of the student 5 
population belongs to one ethnic group to complete not less than thirty 6 
credit hours in cultural education in the history and socioeconomic 7 
conditions of such ethnic group. 8 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require superintendents, assistant superintendents and presidents of 
local and regional boards of education of a school district in which 
eighty per cent or more of the student population belongs to one ethnic 
group to complete not less than thirty credit hours in cultural education 
in the history and socioeconomic conditions of such ethnic group.
