25 | 25 | That the general statutes be amended to (1) encourage investments in 1 | |
26 | 26 | water infrastructure projects that are required for state and federal 2 | |
27 | 27 | regulatory compliance, and (2) authorize a surcharge for certain water 3 | |
28 | 28 | infrastructure projects that provide environmental and public health 4 | |
29 | 29 | benefits, including, but not limited to, addressing PFAS contamination. 5 | |
30 | 30 | Statement of Purpose: | |
31 | 31 | To (1) encourage investments in water infrastructure projects that are | |
32 | 32 | required for state and federal regulatory compliance, and (2) authorize | |
33 | 33 | a surcharge for certain water infrastructure projects that provide | |
34 | 34 | environmental and public health benefits, including, but not limited to, | |
35 | 35 | addressing PFAS contamination. |
