AN ACT CONCERNING POLICE OFFICER TRAINING TIERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 104 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
the training requirements necessary for a police officer to renew such 2
officer's certification shall be based on rank and assignment, and 3
categorized into the following tiers: (1) Tier one, which shall include 4
chiefs of police, assistant chiefs of police, deputy chiefs of police, 5
colonels and lieutenant colonels; (2) tier two, which shall include 6
captains, lieutenants, master sergeants and sergeants; and (3) tier three, 7
which shall include police officers and detectives. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To provide that the training requirements necessary for a police officer
to renew such officer's certification shall be based on rank and
assignment and categorized into three tiers.
