1818 AN ACT EXTENDING THE TEMPORARY FAMILY ASSISTANCE TIME
1919 LIMITS AND INCREASING BENEFITS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 17b-112 of the general statutes be amended to (1) extend 1
2424 the time limit for temporary family assistance to sixty months in 2
2525 accordance with federal law, and (2) increase benefits to one hundred 3
2626 per cent of the federal poverty level with annual increases indexed to 4
2727 inflation to mitigate the prospects of homelessness and provide financial 5
2828 relief for families facing obstacles to employment. 6
2929 Statement of Purpose:
3030 To reduce the prospects of homelessness for families whose temporary
3131 family assistance benefits expire and provide financial relief for families
3232 suffering unforeseen circumstances that impede the ability to obtain
3333 gainful employment.
