1919 AN ACT DEDICATING A PORTION OF THE REVENUE GENERATED
2020 FROM SALES AND USE TAXES IMPOSED ON MEALS SOLD BY AN
2121 EATING ESTABLISHMENT, CATERER OR GROCERY STORE TO
2222 CERTAIN PURPOSES.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to require a 1
2727 percentage of the revenue generated from the additional one per cent 2
2828 sales and use taxes imposed on meals sold by an eating establishment, 3
2929 caterer or grocery store be dedicated to the following purposes: (1) One-4
3030 half per cent to be distributed to the municipalities in which the revenue 5
3131 was generated and used for infrastructure and to develop public safety 6
3232 initiatives; (2) one-quarter per cent to be used to promote tourism in the 7
3333 state; and (3) one-quarter per cent to be used to fund workforce 8
3434 development initiatives. 9
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To require a percentage of the revenue generated from the additional
3737 one per cent sales and use taxes imposed on meals sold by an eating
3838 establishment, caterer or grocery store to be used for certain purposes.
