AN ACT CONCERNING RESALES OF TICKETS TO ENTERTAINMENT
EVENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) impose limits on 1
exclusivity agreements between entertainment venues and ticket 2
resellers, (2) require ticket resellers to disclose all fees to consumers prior 3
to purchase, (3) limit ticket resale prices to not more than a specified 4
percentage above face value, (4) require ticket resellers to (A) establish 5
refund policies in the event of cancelled live events, (B) provide 6
conspicuous notice to consumers regarding such refund policies at the 7
time of purchase, and (C) provide refunds to consumers within a 8
specified time frame, and (5) empower the Department of Consumer 9
Protection to oversee and impose civil penalties on ticket resellers. 10
Statement of Purpose:
To impose various requirements on ticket resellers and empower the
Department of Consumer Protection to oversee and impose civil
penalties on such resellers.
