| 23 | 23 | That section 51-44a of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Revise 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | the composition of the Judicial Selection Commission to include twelve 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | members, eight who shall be attorneys and four who shall not be 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | attorneys; not more than six of the members shall belong to the same 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | political party and none of the members shall otherwise be an elected or 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | appointed official of the state or hold state-wide office in a political 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | party; and (2) provide that no candidate for the position of judge shall 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | remain on a list of qualified candidates for more than ten years. 8 | |
