1818 AN ACT ASSISTING PARENTS CURRENTLY INCARCERATED FOR
1919 NONVIOLENT CRIMES IN FOREIGN JURISDICTIONS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to allow an individual 1
2424 convicted of a nonviolent crime in a foreign jurisdiction, who is 2
2525 incarcerated for such crime in that jurisdiction, and has children 3
2626 residing in this state, to be transferred to a state correctional facility to 4
2727 serve the remainder of their sentence as close to their children as 5
2828 reasonably possible, depending on the safety and needs of such 6
2929 children. 7

3131 To assist parents currently incarcerated for nonviolent crimes in foreign
