| 20 | 20 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
| 21 | 21 | Assembly convened: | |

| 23 | 23 | That the general statutes be amended to provide that a registered sex 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | offender who resides within one thousand feet of the real property 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | comprising a (1) public or private elementary or secondary school, or (2) 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | facility where child day care services, as defined in section 19a-77 of the 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | general statutes, are provided, shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor, 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | except if (A) the person has established a residence within one thousand 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | feet of such property prior to the effective date of this act, or (B) the 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | school or facility is newly located on or after the effective date of this act 8 | |
| 31 | 31 | within one thousand feet of such person's residence. 9 | |
