AN ACT CONCERNING HALFWAY HOUSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that (1) the 1
Department of Correction provide staff twenty-four hours each day in 2
any halfway house, (2) residents in a halfway house be entitled to 3
summary process, and (3) upon closure of a halfway house, the state 4
have full financial responsibility to keep a halfway house operational 5
until each resident is housed in an alternative placement. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require that (1) the Department of Correction provide staff in any
halfway house, (2) residents in a halfway house be entitled to summary
process, and (3) upon closure of a halfway house, the state have full
financial responsibility for placement of residents in an alternative
placement.
