MUSHINSKY, 85 th Dist. AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STATE-WIDE BUILDING CODE CONSISTING OF MORE STRINGENT ENERGY - EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS THAT MAY BE ADOPTED BY TOWNS, CITIES OR BOROUGHS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 541 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 (1) the Office of the State Building Inspector and the Codes and 2 Standards Committee shall develop a state-wide building code that 3 consists of a more stringent set of energy-efficiency requirements than 4 those specified in the State Building Code, which may be adopted by a 5 town, city or borough, and (2) in the process of developing such state-6 wide building code, said office and committee shall consider input from 7 the public and stakeholders. 8 Statement of Purpose: To provide that (1) the Office of the State Building Inspector and the Codes and Standards Committee shall develop a state-wide building code that consists of a more stringent set of energy-efficiency Proposed Bill No. 6618 LCO No. 2400 2 of 2 requirements than those specified in the State Building Code, which may be adopted by a town, city or borough, and (2) in the process of developing such state-wide building code, said office and committee shall consider input from the public and stakeholders.
