2222 AN ACT REQUIRING ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS TO
2323 CREATE AND DISTRIBUTE GUIDES FOR FIGHTING BATTERY FIRES

2525 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2828 That the general statutes be amended to provide that any 1
2929 manufacturer that sells electric vehicles to residents of the state shall 2
3030 create and distribute to each fire department guides for fighting battery 3
3131 fires and limiting chemical thermal runaway and the reignition of such 4
3232 fires, which shall be specific to each such electric vehicle and include 5
3333 information on how to safely store any such electric vehicle that has a 6
3434 damaged lithium-ion battery. 7
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To protect firefighters who are called to fight an electrical vehicle fire
3737 when such vehicle is on the road or in storage.
