AN ACT REQUIRING ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS TO CREATE AND DISTRIBUTE GUIDES FOR FIGHTING BATTERY FIRES TO FIRE DEPARTMENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to provide that any 1 manufacturer that sells electric vehicles to residents of the state shall 2 create and distribute to each fire department guides for fighting battery 3 fires and limiting chemical thermal runaway and the reignition of such 4 fires, which shall be specific to each such electric vehicle and include 5 information on how to safely store any such electric vehicle that has a 6 damaged lithium-ion battery. 7 Statement of Purpose: To protect firefighters who are called to fight an electrical vehicle fire when such vehicle is on the road or in storage.
