1818 AN ACT REDUCING STATE FUNDING TO MUNICIPALITIES THAT
1919 USE AUTOMATED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT SAFETY DEVICES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to reduce state funding to 1
2424 municipalities that use an automated traffic enforcement safety device 2
2525 pursuant to sections 14-307a to 14-307, inclusive, of the general statutes 3
2626 by an amount equal to the costs associated with such use, including 4
2727 processing and storing images and processing and collecting fines, plus 5
2828 any amount the state would have received if the motor vehicle violation 6
2929 detected by such device was detected by a law enforcement officer and 7
3030 such officer issued a citation. 8
3131 Statement of Purpose:
3232 To reduce state funding to municipalities that use an automated traffic
3333 enforcement safety device to detect and collect evidence of alleged
3434 motor vehicle violations.
