AN ACT REDUCING STATE FUNDING TO MUNICIPALITIES THAT USE AUTOMATED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT SAFETY DEVICES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to reduce state funding to 1 municipalities that use an automated traffic enforcement safety device 2 pursuant to sections 14-307a to 14-307, inclusive, of the general statutes 3 by an amount equal to the costs associated with such use, including 4 processing and storing images and processing and collecting fines, plus 5 any amount the state would have received if the motor vehicle violation 6 detected by such device was detected by a law enforcement officer and 7 such officer issued a citation. 8 Statement of Purpose: To reduce state funding to municipalities that use an automated traffic enforcement safety device to detect and collect evidence of alleged motor vehicle violations.
