AN ACT CONCERNING THE PENALTY FOR TINTED WINDOWS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 14-99g of the general statutes be amended to increase the 1 penalty for owning a vehicle having a window that has been tinted or 2 darkened in violation of said section from an infraction to (1) a fine of 3 not less than one hundred dollars nor more than three hundred dollars, 4 similar to the fine for reckless driving, or (2) in lieu of a fine, a 5 requirement to replace such tinted or darkened window and present 6 such vehicle for an inspection at the Department of Motor Vehicles and 7 demonstrate compliance with said section. 8 Statement of Purpose: To increase the penalty for owning a motor vehicle with tinted windows.
