AN ACT CONCERNING PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLIST SAFETY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Department 1 of Transportation to erect signage and implement a public education 2 campaign to ensure the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists sharing the 3 roadways with vehicles, and (2) develop a framework that permits 4 pedestrians to report instances of unsafe driving and use the data from 5 such reports to implement traffic enforcement practices and 6 technologies to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. 7 Statement of Purpose: To improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety, educate motor vehicle operators and report instances of unsafe driving.
