AN ACT ESTABLISHING A FORGIVABLE LOAN PROGRAM FOR 
CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS WHO START A BUSINESS IN THE TRADES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to establish a forgivable loan 1 
program that provides loans to be used on tools, equipment and other 2 
similar expenses associated with establishing a business in the trades, 3 
for individuals who (A) graduated from a Connecticut high school or 4 
trade school, and (B) establish a business in the trades in Connecticut 5 
that operates continuously for not less than ten years. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To encourage individuals working in trades in the state to establish and 
operate businesses in Connecticut by creating a forgivable loan 
program.
