AN ACT REQUIRING AUTOMATIC POSTINGS OF CERTAIN STATE
JOBS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2025) Notwithstanding the 1
provisions of chapter 67 of the general statutes, whenever there is a 2
vacancy in any (1) position not appointed by the Governor or a member 3
of the General Assembly within the Department of Public Health, the 4
Department of Children and Families, the Department of Mental Health 5
and Addiction Services, the Department of Revenue Services, the 6
Department of Correction or the Labor Department, or (2) teaching 7
position within the Technical Education and Career System, the 8
department or system shall post such vacant position in a job 9
advertisement not later than ten days after such vacancy occurs. The 10
provisions of this section shall not affect the terms of any collective 11
bargaining agreement in effect on July 1, 2025, for the duration of such 12
agreement. 13
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
