1818 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM
1919 FOR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN THE
2020 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the sum of one million dollars be appropriated to the 1
2525 Department of Correction, from the General Fund, for each of the fiscal 2
2626 years ending June 30, 2026, and June 30, 2027, to establish a student loan 3
2727 repayment program for health care professionals working full-time in 4
2828 the Department of Correction, in which such professionals would be 5
2929 eligible to receive up to fifty thousand dollars in student loan 6
3030 repayment, to be distributed after a certain number of years of 7
3131 employment with the department as follows: (1) Five thousand dollars 8
3232 after the second year, (2) seven thousand five hundred dollars after the 9
3333 third year, (3) seven thousand five hundred dollars after the fourth year, 10
3434 (4) fifteen thousand dollars after the fifth year, and (5) fifteen thousand 11
