1818 AN ACT CONCERNING REPRESENTATIONS MADE BY FOOD
1919 SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS REGARDING THE FRESHNESS OF
2020 FOOD ITEMS AND FOOD INGREDIENTS.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the general statutes be amended to (1) define what constitutes a 1
2525 "fresh" food item or food ingredient, (2) prohibit restaurants and other 2
2626 food service establishments from inaccurately using the term "fresh" to 3
2727 describe any food item or food ingredient, (3) require restaurants and 4
2828 other food service establishments to disclose whether any food or food 5
2929 ingredient has been frozen, preserved or processed, and (4) require the 6
3030 Department of Consumer Protection to develop and provide relevant 7
3131 guidance to restaurants and other food service establishments. 8
