1818 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
1919 TO INVESTIGATE AND INITIATE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS IN
2020 RESPONSE TO ALLEGED PRICE GOUGING BY THE INSURANCE,
2121 PHARMACEUTICAL, PHARMACY BENEFIT MANAGEMENT AND
2222 UTILITY SECTORS.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 That chapter 35 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
2727 the Office of the Attorney General may investigate, intervene in or bring 2
2828 a civil or administrative action in the name of the state, seeking 3
2929 injunctive or declaratory relief, damages and any other relief that may 4
3030 be available under law, whenever any person in the insurance, 5
3131 pharmaceutical, pharmacy benefit management or utility sector is or has 6
3232 engaged in a practice or pattern of conduct that constitutes price 7
3333 gouging. 8
3434 Statement of Purpose:
3535 To ensure greater accountability and protect residents from unfair
3636 pricing practices by the insurance, pharmaceutical, pharmacy benefit
3737 management and utility sectors that compromise affordability and
3838 access to critical services.
