AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PROPERTY TAX CAP AND AN
UNFUNDED MUNICIPAL MANDATES TASK FORCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) title 12 of the general statutes be amended to establish a 1
property tax cap effective for the fiscal years commencing July 1, 2027, 2
and thereafter, equal to two per cent annually or the rate of inflation as 3
calculated biannually, whichever is greater, and (2) the general statutes 4
be amended to establish a task force, which shall make 5
recommendations concerning the repeal of unfunded municipal 6
mandates not later than January 1, 2026. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a property tax cap and a task force to make
recommendations concerning the repeal of unfunded municipal
mandates.
