1818 AN ACT CONCERNING A MODEL CURRICULUM FOR FAMILY LIFE
1919 EDUCATION.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 10-25b of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
2424 Department of Education to (1) develop a model curriculum for 2
2525 comprehensive family life education for students in grades 3
2626 kindergarten to twelve, inclusive, as appropriate for the age of such 4
2727 students designed to promote parental involvement, foster positive self-5
2828 concepts and provide coping mechanisms, including, but not limited to, 6
2929 the following topics: (A) Family living and community relationships, (B) 7
3030 the benefits, challenges, responsibilities and value of marriage for men, 8
3131 women, children and communities, and (C) the value of family 9
3232 relationships, (2) establish requirements for training educators to teach 10
3333 the family life education curriculum, and (3) review and update the 11
3434 family life education curriculum every five years thereafter to reflect 12
3535 contemporary community standards. 13
