23 | 24 | | Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2025) The Department of Energy and 1 |

24 | 25 | | Environmental Protection shall establish a two-year pilot program for a 2 |

25 | 26 | | boat washing station at Gardner Lake in the town of Salem. In addition 3 |
---|
26 | 27 | | to any other structure or equipment, such station shall display one or 4 |
---|
27 | 28 | | more signs that indicate the proper method for the removal of plant 5 |
---|
28 | 29 | | material from the prop, hull and motor of a boat. Following such two-6 |
---|
29 | 30 | | year period, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection 7 |

30 | 31 | | shall assess the need for and viability of continuing such boat washing 8 |

31 | 32 | | station at said lake. If the commissioner's assessment determines that 9 |

32 | 33 | | cost or utilization issues no longer make such boat washing station 10 |

33 | 34 | | viable at said lake, the commissioner shall identify an alternate nearby 11 |
