22 | 22 | Assembly convened: | |

24 | 24 | That the general statutes be amended to (1) require a health care 1 | |
25 | 25 | provider who is prescribing a psychotropic drug to a child receiving 2 | |
26 | 26 | services under Medicaid to (A) provide the parent or guardian of such 3 | |
27 | 27 | child with medication guides prepared by the federal Food and Drug 4 | |
28 | 28 | Administration concerning such drug, and (B) educate the parent or 5 | |
29 | 29 | guardian of such child regarding the risks and benefits of such drugs 6 | |
30 | 30 | and inform such parent or guardian of any nondrug alternatives, (2) 7 | |
31 | 31 | establish a robust, user-friendly system through which the parent, 8 | |
32 | 32 | guardian or health care provider of a child taking a psychotropic drug 9 | |
33 | 33 | can report any side effects of such drug that the child may be 10 | |
34 | 34 | experiencing, and (3) require the implementation of regulatory 11 | |
35 | 35 | measures and accountability standards for the Departments of Social 12 | |
36 | 36 | Services and Public Health to ensure safe prescription practices with 13 | |
