2121 AN ACT CONCERNING RANKED -CHOICE VOTING.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to (1) provide for a 1
2626 method of casting and tabulating votes whereby voters rank candidates 2
2727 in order of preference, tabulation proceeds in sequential rounds in 3
2828 which last-place candidates are defeated and the candidate with the 4
2929 most votes in the final round is elected, (2) allow such a method to be 5
3030 used in presidential preference primaries, and (3) allow municipalities 6
3131 the option to use such a method for single-member offices. 7
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To provide for the method of election known as ranked-choice voting
3434 and allow its use for presidential preference primaries and certain
3535 municipal elections.
