AN ACT REQUIRING EXPANDED FUNCTION DENTAL ASSISTANTS WHO COMPLETE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN OTHER STATES TO PASS A JURISPRUDENCE ASSESSMENT BEFORE PRACTICING IN THE STATE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 20-112a of the general statutes be amended to require 1 each expanded function dental assistant, as defined in said section, who 2 successfully completed an expanded function dental assistant program 3 at an institution of higher education that is located in another state and 4 accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American 5 Dental Association, to pass a jurisprudence assessment before 6 performing expanded function dental assistant functions in the state. 7 Statement of Purpose: To increase the expanded function dental assistant workforce in the state to ensure essential oral health care for state residents.
