2121 AN ACT CONCERNING PATIENT-SPECIFIC EMERGENCY HEALTH
2222 CARE PROTOCOLS FOR PERSONS WITH RARE DISEASES OR
2323 SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to require 1
2828 emergency health care providers, including, but not limited to, 2
2929 emergency room physicians and emergency medical personnel, to 3
3030 adhere to a patient-specific emergency health care protocol, developed 4
3131 by a patient's physician, when providing health care to persons with 5
3232 rare diseases or special health care needs during a medical emergency. 6
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To improve medical outcomes and safeguard the health and well-being
3535 of persons living with rare diseases or special health care needs by
3636 requiring emergency health care providers to follow patient-specific
3737 emergency protocols.
