AN ACT CONCERNING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE GOVERNOR'S WORKING GROUP ON RANKED-CHOICE VOTING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to implement the 1 recommendations of the Governor's Working Group on Ranked-Choice 2 Voting by (1) allowing municipalities to use ranked-choice voting in 3 certain municipal elections, (2) allowing political parties to use ranked-4 choice voting in party conventions and primaries, (3) allowing political 5 parties to use ranked-choice voting in presidential preference primaries, 6 and (4) authorizing the Secretary of the State to defer implementation of 7 ranked-choice voting procedures upon a determination that issues 8 related to ballot design, tabulation technology or inadequate resources 9 necessitate such deferral. 10 Statement of Purpose: To allow for ranked-choice voting as recommended by the Governor's Working Group on Ranked-Choice Voting.
