19	19		AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGISTRATION AND MAINTENANCE OF
20	20		MUNICIPAL INTERNET WEB SITES.
21	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
22	22		Assembly convened:

24	24		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding the 1
25	25		provisions of any municipal charter, special act or home rule ordinance, 2
26	26		not later than July 1, 2027, each municipality shall (1) register a ".gov" 3
27	27		Internet top-level domain for such municipality with the Cybersecurity 4
28	28		and Infrastructure Security Agency within the United States 5
29	29		Department of Homeland Security, and (2) redirect any existing Internet 6
30	30		web site addresses maintained by such municipality to such domain or 7
31	31		discontinue the use of such addresses. On and after July 1, 2027, each 8
32	32		municipality shall maintain an Internet web site with a ".gov" Internet 9
33	33		top-level domain. For the purposes of this section, "municipality" has 10
34	34		the same meaning as provided in section 7-148 of the general statutes. 11
