AN ACT CONCERNING SCHOOL CHOICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than July 1, 2026, the 1
Commissioner of Education shall develop a program for the expansion 2
of school choice in the state. In developing such program, the 3
commissioner may hold hearings and accept public comments 4
concerning such expansion of school choice. The commissioner shall 5
submit a report on such program to the joint standing committee of the 6
General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education, 7
in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes. 8
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commissioner of Education to develop a program for the
expansion of school choice in the state.
