12-AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
13-TINY HOMES.
19+AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
20+FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TINY HOMES.
1421 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

17-Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2025) The sum of ten million dollars is 1
18-appropriated to the Department of Housing from the General Fund, for 2
19-the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, to provide or grants-in-aid to 3
20-private and nonprofit entities for the construction of five hundred 4
21-permanent tiny homes that are connected to private water or septic 5
22-systems or to water, sewer and electric utilities. 6
24+Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2025) (a) As used in this section and section 1
25+2 of this act, "tiny home" includes a dwelling unit that is four hundred 2
26+square feet or less in floor area, excluding lofts. 3
27+(b) The Commissioner of Housing shall establish and administer a 4
28+program, that includes collaboration with private and nonprofit entities, 5
29+to (1) identify privately and municipally owned land suitable for the 6
30+construction of tiny homes, and (2) construct at least five hundred tiny 7
31+homes on such land to provide temporary housing for homeless 8
32+persons. 9
33+Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2025) The sum of ten million dollars is 10
34+appropriated to the Department of Housing from the General Fund, for 11
35+the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, for the construction of five hundred 12
36+tiny homes in accordance with section 1 of this act. 13
