| 19 | 19 | | AN ACT CONCERNING MEDICAL DEVICE REPRESENTATIVES. |

| 20 | 20 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |

| 23 | 23 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2025) A medical device 1 |

| 24 | 24 | | representative shall not provide technical or educational assistance 2 |

| 25 | 25 | | regarding any medical device during the preparation, conduct or 3 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | completion of a surgical procedure at a hospital, as defined in section 4 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 19a-490 of the general statutes, unless such medical device 5 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | representative has undergone credentialing and been issued credentials 6 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | by such hospital. For the purposes of this section, "credentialing" means 7 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | a hospital's process of assessing and validating the qualifications of a 8 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | person applying to be approved to provide treatment, care or services 9 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | in or for a hospital, and "medical device representative" means a 10 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | nonhospital employee authorized by a medical device company to 11 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | provide technical and educational assistance regarding medical devices 12 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | during the preparation, conduct or completion of surgical procedures. 13 |
