1819 AN ACT CONCERNING LIVE DIGITAL VIDEO SCHOOL BUS
1920 VIOLATION DETECTION MONITORING SYSTEMS.
2021 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2324 Section 1. Subsection (e) of section 14-279a of the general statutes is 1
2425 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from 2
2526 passage): 3
2627 (e) (1) A municipality or local or regional board of education that is 4
2728 not operating a live digital video school bus violation detection 5
2829 monitoring system pursuant to subsection (b) of this section prior to July 6
2930 1, [2024] 2026, shall not (A) commence operation of such a system on or 7
3031 after July 1, [2024] 2026, or (B) enter into an agreement with a private 8
3132 vendor pursuant to subsection (b) of this section for the installation, 9
3233 operation and maintenance of such a system on or after July 1, [2024] 10

3435 (2) A municipality or local or regional board of education, or a private 12
3536 vendor under an agreement pursuant to subsection (b) of this section, 13

4245 [2024] 2026, shall cease operation of such system not later than July 1, 16
4346 [2026] 2028, except as provided in subdivision (3) of this subsection. 17
4447 (3) A private vendor operating a live digital video school bus 18
4548 violation detection monitoring system may continue operating such 19
4649 system on or after July 1, [2026] 2028, provided (A) the agreement 20
4750 regarding such operation was entered into pursuant to subsection (b) of 21
4851 this section prior to July 1, [2024] 2026, (B) no option to renew or extend 22
4952 such agreement is exercised on or after July 1, [2024] 2026, that would 23
5053 extend such operation to include any period of time on or after July 1, 24
5154 [2026] 2028, and (C) such operation ceases upon termination of such 25
