To order the closing of a 10-foot wide unimproved public alley in Square 3701 abutting Lots 85 15 
and 88 in Northeast Washington, D.C. in Ward 5. 16

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may 18 
be cited as the “Closing of a Public Alley in Square 3701, S.O. 23-	06220, Act of 2023” . 19 
Sec. 2. Alley Closure. 20 
Pursuant to Section 201 of the Street and Alley Closing and Acquisition Procedures Act 21 
of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-	201; D.C. Official Code § 9-202.01), the Council 22 
finds that the 10- foot unimproved public alley in Square 3701 abutting Lots 85 and 88, as shown 23 
on the Surveyor’s plat filed under S.O. 23-	06220, is unnecessary for alley purposes and orders it 24 
closed, with title to the land to vest as shown on the Surveyor’s plat. The approval of the Council 25 
of this alley closing is contingent upon the satisfaction of all the conditions set forth in the 26 
official S.O. File

Sec. 3. Transmittal. 28 
The Secretary to the Council shall transmit a copy of this act, upon its effective date, to 29 
the Surveyor of the District of Columbia and the District of Columbia Recorder of Deeds.   30 
 Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement. 31

The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 32 
impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, 33 
approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-	206.02(c)(3)).   34 
 Sec. 5. Effective date. 35 
 This act shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 36 
Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), and a 30-	day period of Congressional review 37 
as provided in section 603(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 38 
24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-	206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of 39 
Columbia Register.
