15+To amend, on an emergency basis, the Attorney General for the District of Columbia 13
16+Clarification and Elected Term Amendment Act of 2010 to increase the not-to-exceed 14
17+amount for the Litigation Support Fund to $27 million , and to increase maximum 15
18+spending from the fund on public safety initiatives from $9 million to $9.7 million. 16

20+ BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 18
21+act may be cited as the “ Litigation Support Fund Emergency Amendment Act of 2024”. 19
22+ Sec. 2. Section 106b of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia Clarification 20
23+and Elected Term Amendment Act of 2010, effective October 22, 2015 (D.C. Law 21- 36; D.C. 21
24+Official Code § 1-301.86b), is amended as follows: 22
25+(a) Subsection (c) (2) is amended to read as follows: 23
26+“(2) Beginning in Fiscal Year 2024, up to $9.7 million deposited into the Fund 24
27+each fiscal year may be used for the purposes of crime reduction, violence interruption, and other 25
28+public safety initiatives.”. 26
29+(b) Subsection (d)(3)(A) is amended by striking the phr ase “$23.5 million” both times it 27
30+appears and inserting the phrase “$27 million” in its place. 28
31+ Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 29
32+ The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement of the Budget Director as the fiscal impact 30
33+statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved 31
34+October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1- 301.47a). 32 2
