17-To amend, on a temporary basis, the Attorney General for the District of Columbia Clarification
18-and Elected Term Amendment Act of 2010 to increase the not-to-exceed amount for the
19-Litigation Support Fund to $27 million, and to increase maximum spending from the fund
20-on public safety initiatives from $9 million to $9.7 million.

22- BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
23-act may be cited as the “Litigation Support Fund Temporary Amendment Act of 2024”.

25- Sec. 2. Section 106b of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia Clarification
26-and Elected Term Amendment Act of 2010, effective October 22, 2015 (D.C. Law 21-36; D.C.
27-Official Code § 1-301.86b), is amended as follows:
28-(a) Subsection (c)(2) is amended to read as follows:
29-“(2) Beginning in Fiscal Year 2024, up to $9.7 million deposited into the Fund
30-each fiscal year may be used for the purposes of crime reduction, violence interruption, and other
31-public safety initiatives.”.
32-(b) Subsection (d)(3)(A) is amended by striking the phrase “$23.5 million” and inserting
33-the phrase “$27 million” in its place.

35- Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.
36- The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement of the Budget Director as the fiscal impact
37-statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved
38-October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

40- Sec. 4. Effective date.
41- (a) This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by
42-the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional review
43-as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December
